Pregnancy Journal of Wellness from Chiropractic Care
November 19, 2009
In recent years I have been diagnosed with Sciatica and Scoliosis of the spine. At this time I am 30 weeks pregnant. This has caused me to have migraines, pain, depression and etc. due to the subluxation of my spinal cord. My main problem is during my pregnancy I'm not allowed to take medications for migraines or pain. My husband is in the military so my options are very limited. My recent doctor has referred me to a physical therapist and I have continued to go twice a week. Physical Therapy only loosens the muscles still leaving me in agony with my bones being out of alignment. This in turn has cost the military so much excess money, wasted medications and time.
This will be my second pregnancy and the first was much more comfortable because I was able to use a Chiropractor instead of medications and Physical Therapy. In doing so I was able to work and continue on with my daily life. Now that we are stationed in Germany it has been very hard to find a chiropractor in network. Just this week I have finally found a chiropractor Dr. Renee White who speaks English but we have to pay out of pocket in Euros. This has put quite a damper in our family budget but is so worth it for my sanity and comfort for myself and my baby and not to forget chasing a 3 year old around.

Saw Dr. White and has done wonders with my pain and discomfort I have totally quit going to Physical therapy because this feels like its working immediately. Dr. White has also informed me that my baby was positioned wrong and that is why I have such tremendous pain. She adjusted me and the baby and I feel 87% better. I still need another adjustment next week to keep the baby in place but I really do feel soooo much better.

I am 39 weeks and feeling much better and now understand why I have stretch marks on one side of my belly. Saw Dr. White today and she thinks the baby is finally starting to drop now because she is in the right position. The baby was stuck on one side and could not drop. This was putting pressure on my hips and lower back and throwing my whole body off kilter. I feel soooo much better about everything and hope this will help my labor be a little more easier and prevent me from having a c-section.

Today is my due date and feeling strong so took a long walk (or should I say waddle) in 6 inches of snow with my 3 year old daughter and feel great! Maybe this will help this sweet little baby come on out!

Mila Victoria Venne was born today at 1:27 a.m. She is very healthy and was born totally natural without any medications for pain.
Thank you Dr. White!!!
I'm writing this to hopefully help mothers in the future who have
similar complications during their pregnancies or everyday life. Maybe I can help to raise awareness and more concern for relief of back, and neck pain.
